"The scent of marquise on the roof"
The brief for this roof garden, built at the top of a new building in Olbia, was informed by the theme of ‘having the impression of walking in the countryside’, amongst herbs, scents and the sounds of nature.
In a contemporary style Maurizio Usai designed an elegant garden characterised by essential architectural lines and adopting the most advanced roof garden building techniques available.
The simplicity of the design is further enhanced by the fine materials and the details of the hard landscape surrounding it. In the planting, scented mounds of clipped aromatic plants with silver leaves are alternated with fresh green waving grasses and masses of mainly white flowers which are occasionally broken by deep blue or fiery red blooms.
